RA
Okej jag kollade igenom bloggen och såg att jag inte officiellt berättade att jag blev RA. Så suprise jag blev vald till RA. Vilket var extra coolt eftersom det var så många som ansökte denna terminen. Jag får betalt ca 10.000 för att jobba i 14 veckor plus att jag får rabatt på mitt boende. Och mitt rum är större, jag har en egen kyl och en TV. Att förklara jobbet är lite svårt så jag copy and paste skolans overview.
Overview of role
•1. Resident Assistants (RA) are senior students employed by ICMS to live on campus to manage a residential floor.
•2. The core duties of the RA revolve around keeping the resident floors safe, and conducive to relaxation and study.
•3. RA's must present themselves as positive role models. They must therefore be knowledgeable about; all aspects of residential living, student support, and abide by, all College rules & regulations. They must also demonstrate commitment to their own personal growth, taking care to plan time for study, work and relaxation.
•4. Each RA will be responsible for a particular residential area within Kelly or Moran House. RA's must have the maturity to cope with making daily decisions in relation to the residential area for which they are responsible.
Duties and responsibilities
•1. Maintain a Professional Conduct score of 91 points or above.
•2. Maintain a G.P.A of 2 or over.
•3. Be on-site prior to check-in weekend for orientation week and training.
•4. Attend the orientation week and assist with all aspects of check-in procedures and other Student Affairs activities.
•5. Be available to provide assistance to students and duty coverage determined by the Student Affairs Manager. This includes being present in the nominated residential area, or on College grounds in the evenings during your scheduled duties.
•6. Understand that the RA position will be the holder's principal "out-of-class" activity and any jobs or activities that would keep the RA away from their residential area on a regular basis must receive prior approval from the Student Affairs Manager. The Student Affairs Manager must approve any extra-curricular activities including, but not limited to, involvement in the Student Representative Council, Student Bar and College Newsletter.
•7. Organise a welcome party, or a mid term party for students on your floor. This must be held no later than the end of week 2 for the welcome party, and week 8 for the mid term party.
•8. Orientate new and returning students to residential life including issues such as recycling, conservation of water, house and floor rules.
•9. Attend all regular Monday evening RA meetings with the Student Affairs Manager.
•10. Liaise on a daily basis with the Student Affairs Manager and other relevant staff (e.g. Operations Manager and Duty Manager) about incidents, conditions of residential life, and students.
•11. Be "on-duty" as required by the RA roster, which includes: making three regular, security rounds of the College, assisting students locked out of their rooms, and dealing with emergencies or problems that arise.
•12. Perform a minim of two 2 hours shifts per week in the Student Services Office as rostered by the Student Affairs Manager.
•13. Perform 10 working days of morning pick-ups (college shuttle bus service for students) as rostered by Student Affairs Manager.
•14. Weekend duties start on Saturday at 8am and finish on the following Monday at 8am. During weekend duty, RA's are required to be on campus to support the duty manager (Saturday and Sunday). On weekend duty the RA is required to contact and confirm with the duty manager and brief absence from campus.
•15. On weekend duty (Saturday, and Sunday) the RA is required to supervise and manage the Student Services Office from 11am to 1pm. Duties include opening and closing the office and offering the services provided by the Student Services Office.
•16. Provide a written request 7 days in advance to the Student Affairs Manager for any overnight leave.
•17. A minimum of three (3) RAs are to be on campus after 1am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. At the weekly RA meeting a schedule detailing the names of the 3 RAs staying on campus for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after 1am shall be organised.
•18. Provide on campus security in Kelly House for the following student functions: Ice Breaker Party, Brazilian Party (Foundation day), and the End of Term Dinner after party.
•19. All RAs are required to be on duty for the End of Term Dinner. This duty is overnight, followed by check out.
